According to Shakta tradition, Tarapith is both a Shakti Peeth and a Siddha Peeth.We belief says the third eye of Sati fell here after Vishnu cut her body with the Sudarshan Chakra. That is why the place became associated with intense spiritual energy, especially connected to Maa Tara — one of the Ten Mahavidyas.
The Mahasmasan is not seen as separate from the temple. In Tantra, the cremation ground itself is considered the real spiritual laboratory. The symbolism is brutal:

The havan itself was done properly — we received all photos and a short video clip. However, I wish the video was a full recording and not just a 3-minute clip. The prasad box was well packed with all items mentioned on the website. The Sindoor and Havan Ash packaging could be slightly improved — one of the small packets was slightly open when it arrived.
